Two problems

Two problems
1- Opportunity cost. In a downturn, cash flow and savings matter more. Nobody can predict how society develops. Live in the present; the future may be worse. Burning savings and having monthly income are not the same thing. Converted, opportunity cost is real money lost.
2- Doubt about getting things done with no constraints. Experience and instinct tell me not to trust or overrate myself.

So is there a middle path
- Cut expectations entirely, money and vanity alike
- Take jobs and interviews that are easy to reach
- Protect attention and mental health
- Redesign the life plan and dance with change
- Without a stable high-return environment, pick one of two, seek stability inward

Conclusion:
Look for low-barrier work
Lower expectations and lower investment
Protect your own feathers
