A person is the sum of their social relations
On Da Bing's livestream tonight a woman in the audience
lives in a tiny circle, inside her own world
People like that get more and more twisted
I saw myself in her
Intimate relationships, friends, acquaintances all need contact
Go too long without dealing with people
and you slowly lose basic social survival skills
You can't even be real when you talk to someone
because there are too few chances to connect
Use it or lose it shows up
You end up avoiding conflict and real emotion to protect yourself
Living apart from the herd drifts you away from the aliveness, vitality, and likability you actually want
While I was writing this
Da Bing said artists are people
who know how to live and want to live
Quiet in their own world
but not sitting on a fortune
Earning a living through production always means contact with others
A lifelong subject you can't hide from
Go into the crowd
Which makes me think the next job
should be a non-technical role with more human contact
That's more fundamental than a high salary
